Winemaking in Armenia

Wine is considered one of the favorite drinks of Armenians.

It has been produced for thousands of years. The excavations in the cave near the village of Areni revealed that Armenia has been engaged in winemaking for more than 6,000 years. As a result, archeologists found clay vessels for fermentation and storage, grape seeds and cups.

Wine has a number of beneficial properties for humans, there are enzymes that promote metabolism in the body, it has antiseptic properties, and red wine removes toxic substances from the body.

Winemaking is the production of wine, starting with the selection of fruit, fermentation, conversion to alcohol and bottling of the finished liquid. Choosing the right fruit is very important. The cultivation of grapes has been developed in the Armenian highlands since ancient times. Armenia is considered one of the oldest viticulture countries. According to the well-known biblical history, the homeland of viticulture and winemaking is Armenia.
